Kognity is a fast-growing EdTech company and we aim to radically improve learning for 1.5 billion school students globally.

We pursue our vision because there are few more important jobs than educating the world’s young people. No other single factor has a higher impact on the prosperity and well-being of humanity than education. Yet technology has previously not delivered on any of its promises of better learning. At Kognity, we have set out to do this.

Who we are

We provide intelligent textbooks to schools in over 100 countries on 5 continents, allowing students to learn faster and more effectively, and teachers to help students reach their goals.

We are looking for exceptional people who want to pursue the biggest possible challenges. We need the sharpest brains, biggest hearts, and greatest drive. Kognity is for those who want to take part in making the world a better place by working hard and creatively in a fun, caring, fast-paced and challenging environment.

Who you are & why we need you

So, we are growing. Quite a lot actually. With an aggressive hiring plan for the coming years, I'm now looking to hire our second TA-hero to partner up with our current TA Manager. Given our outsized ambitions, we are convinced that we will only reach our vision if we have a world class team in place (where “world class” is not empty words, but what we mean). For this reason, recruitment is one of our top strategic priorities. To be clear, our TA function will be a fundamental part of our success.

Responsibilities

Together with our current rockstar TA Manager you will be responsible to make sure we attract and identify talent that takes us towards our vision. You will be an important Kognity advocate, being the first point of contact many potential employees have with us.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable and thrive in both developing and doing. While operationally running (often search-heavy) recruitment processes with all that it entails is the main priority, we also like you to support in development initiatives all throughout the Talent Acquisition area. This includes among other things assessment methods, educating leaders and stakeholders, candidate experience and employer branding. You will be collaborating closely with our current TA Manager on how to develop a world class talent acquisition function as well as bouncing ideas for how to source that really scarce competency to build a strong pipeline of candidates.

Your profile

We believe you have 3-5 years experience of similar work, but it might be a bit more or a bit less. What we are really looking for is an exceptional recruiter with an extensive skill-set within search and how to identify and attract talent. You consider it your strength to find creative ways to reach out to potential talent, this means your sourcing skills go beyond LinkedIn and encompasses various other techniques and platforms. As the majority of our coming hires will be within product development we believe that you have strong experience in hiring within tech and product management. Preferably you have been part of building a high growth start-up or product company using data driven recruitment.

Beyond sourcing and attracting talent, your skillset moves into assessment and how to design recruitment processes and create tools that support leaders in identifying that 1 out of a million. This likely means you have a strong passion for talent acquisition and stay updated on the latest news and methods available in the market. You can structure your thoughts clearly in written and verbal communication -  both when it comes to candidate communication, as well as internal work with processes, instructions, and hiring manager training you create are. It should all be easy to understand, and add value.

What about me?

In addition to being a close collaborator to you, I will be your direct leader, meaning you and I will be in contact a lot. As the VP People and leading the People Operations team, my main objective is to ensure that we have people and culture practices that support in taking Kognity to its vision of radically improved learning for the world's 1.5 billion students. With you we will be five people in the team and we collaborate, challenge and bounce ideas off each other on everything from long term people strategy and quarterly priorities to how to structure that google-slide presentation. I believe this collaboration makes us better, and it is important that you appreciate this way or working and see feedback as a change to grow and improve.

My leadership style is defined by trust and open dialogues. I prefer not to get into details of what you do (unless you ask me to!), and delegate responsibilities rather than tasks.  I do think it is important to enjoy work, and aim to develop a close relationship with all my team members.

If you think we could be a good fit for each other and you have the competencies to do the job, go ahead and apply! Don’t wait, I aim to fill the position as soon as possible. The expected start date is sooner rather than later - we expect it to be a busy start of the next year!
